Cajun Country

Wow! Did we have fun in New Iberia, LA. Don't know where it is?? Me neither until this weekend. Cajun food, sugar cane fields, Avery Island (the birthplace of Tobasco sauce), casinos on the swamp, and fabulous company.

From the unique feel of the South Louisiana marshes and bayous to the nature preserve inhabited by indigenous plants and animals, Avery Island, Louisiana is a beautiful place to visit.
Touring the visitor center and the pepper sauce factory is just one part of the Avery Island experience. In addition to seeing how they age TABASCO® Sauce in white oak barrels and ship it all over the world, you can visit Avery Island's 250-acre Jungle Gardens and see, in season, a variety of azaleas, camellias and bamboo. You might even spy some alligators, deer, and raccoons that live in the hills and marshes around the gardens. We didn't, hoever, we just saw people crabbing. And then there are thousands of snowy egrets who nest on the island each spring on specially-built, pier-like structures in a pond nicknamed “Bird City”. You can stroll the gardens along a path covered by gnarled oaks laced with Spanish moss, and stand at the shrine that houses a centuries old have stood.

When you’re ready to see how TABASCO® Sauce is made, you can take the factory tour. There's a short film on TABASCO® history and a guided tour of our bottling and packaging operations. You can also spend time in the TABASCO Country Store®, and check out a wide array of products and souvenires wher centuries old have stood.

We went to visit friends and attend the Troy LSU game. Troy should have won. I was so heartbroken I cried silent tears. They had them 24 -3 at half time, first drive after halftime Troy scored again and from there...... voodoo I guess. Whatever the score, Troy gave them all they wanted and more. The video is of our friends from Acadiana. It was a wonderful weekend to be treasured for many years to come. Enjoy the picturrs! We Love you Sharon, Ross and Lauren

Election Day!

The sweet ladies at the polls yesterday were extremely nice to give the boys their very own sticker. I figured because they felt sorry for me. They were all looking at me with pitiful eyes saying things like, "You poor girl" and "Oh No. How do you do it?" Some just shook their heads at me. I figured why....because I had two 9 month olds in a long line at the polls. It happens everywhere I go. They definately grab attention. But today everyone was over the top with looks and stares. It was only after I got home and put the babies in their jumperoos that I looked in the mirror and saw green pees smeered all over my white hoodie. I immediately new why the ladies at the polls were so nice! Thank goodness I did not have it in my hair.

We went to Seaside for Halloween and then we went to our church Trunk or Treat. The boys perked up at the church. I guess it was because we did not have the camera.

The Old State House (Our Favorite).
The Boys are going to be 9 months on the 30th. I was looking through old pictures this weekend and could not believe how much they have grown. I had to get out the bonnets one last time. Ed says it is time to put them away. Maybe we will get them out and wear them during the day when he is working. Love you Eddie:)

Eddie and I went to Boston last week. Eddie has a buddy that is from Boston and he suggested to take the Duck Tour through Boston. If you go DON'T DO IT! They make you "quack " at passengers walking by. Complete tourist trap! Otherwise we had a great time and saw these beautiful sites.

7 Months Old

I can't believe the twins are 7 months old. We have had such fun with grandparents, great-grandparents and friends. The pictures at the end of the slide the babies are at the beach and Whit is not much of a fan. He will grow to love it. He has to! It is our backyard!
